Morning Mobility Routine

As the saying goes, “Use it or lose it.” If you want to keep “it” — whether “it” is a range of motion, motor control, strength, or flexibility, etc. — then you have to use it.

We now tend to spend our days mostly sitting, standing, or lying in bed. Frequent CARs (controlled articular rotations), even done at low intensity, will do more to keep your joints healthy and flexible than irregular stretching routines.

Performing a morning mobility routine will help relieve stiffness in the joints. It also helps hydrate, and pump fresh blood and oxygen to soft tissues such as cartilage, tendons, and ligaments, which rely on movement for their blood supply.

Tricks

Spend 5-10 minutes after waking up on a mobility routine which includes controlled articular rotations for the full body.
